The joys of children that aren't your own.

So I nanny for these two little kids, a four year old girl and a six year old boy. They are pretty cute kids and are well behaved. Most of the time. Every time I'm over there the boy asks me, "Hailey, can we play the Wii?" And I always say no, because they're not allowed to play it on week days, and he knows it too. Sometimes he throws a fit, but as of late he's been really good about it. But, they can be sneaky little kids! Like today, he was telling me about his other babysitter that apparently let's him have tons of sugar, play Wii and stay up really late. Please. I'll believe that for ZERO seconds. Or like the other day, when the girl tried to convince me that her Mom let her brush her teeth in bed. ??

Top things I'm not looking forward to when I have children:
1. Wiping them. BLEH. Although I must admit it beats old people.
2. Saying the words, "It's time for bed." All hell breaks loose. "But Haaaailleeeyyy I'm not ready to go to bed!" Well. Too bad. I'm ready.
3. Listening to them whine and bug each other constantly. You know what? I'm less likely to give you whatever you're asking for BECAUSE you are whining. I also hate tattle tailing.
4. The whole "eating all your dinner to get dessert" thing. You'd think I was trying to hurt them by the way they make such a fuss about it. It's a simple concept, if you want this brownie you must eat your dinner.

But don't get the wrong idea, I really love these kids, but man it's hard! I don't get a moment alone ever. Is that how it's going to be? Will I never be alone again once I have children? There are things I'm not looking forward to, but the list of things I am looking forward to is definitely much longer. I'm excited for when I can have my own, beautiful children... but I'm glad it won't be for a while. (really glad)

And for your enjoyment, one of my favorite digital shorts.
