Conversation...

..I had the other day with the little boy I babysit..

Boy: Hailey, you're sexy.
Me: What?? Do you even know what that means?
Boy: No.
Me: Well then you probably shouldn't say it if you don't know what it means. Where did you hear it?
Boy: A song.
Me: *thinking about all the trashy songs out there... most likely "sexy chick" by David Guetta
Boy: What does it mean?
Me: Umm... ask your mom.
Boy: Is it like, being weird or something?
Me: Hah. No.

Why?

Why do I procrastinate so much? It's just ridiculous.

I'm choreographing a clogging dance and I've had weeks to do it. I had the cut of the song and everything. Do I work on the dance a little bit each day so I can really get it down and make it awesome? No. No, I wait until the day before I'm supposed to teach it and knock it all out in one night, which leaves me feeling unsure and freaking tired.

And it's not just with this, it's EVERYTHING. I always convince myself that things will go better if I just wait. It's ok if I wait until tonight to to do my essay because I always get creative at night. What? No, Hailey, you do NOT get creative at night. The only thing you get at night is a huge dose of tiredness. And I know that in the back of my mind, but I never listen to myself! I can put this off until later because I know I won't forget about it. Wrong. I do. I always do. Good things never come out of procrastination.

I just wish I was one of those people who are always on top of things. I want to be organized and be able to manage my time so I don't ever have a run-in with Mr. Procrastination from hell. Obviously I could be that kind of a person if I really tried. Which, why shouldn't I? I'm no superwoman but I do have the brains to make a simple schedule for myself.

Who's with me?? Don't let procrastination grab hold of your hair and pull you into the swamp of regret!

The joys of children that aren't your own.

So I nanny for these two little kids, a four year old girl and a six year old boy. They are pretty cute kids and are well behaved. Most of the time. Every time I'm over there the boy asks me, "Hailey, can we play the Wii?" And I always say no, because they're not allowed to play it on week days, and he knows it too. Sometimes he throws a fit, but as of late he's been really good about it. But, they can be sneaky little kids! Like today, he was telling me about his other babysitter that apparently let's him have tons of sugar, play Wii and stay up really late. Please. I'll believe that for ZERO seconds. Or like the other day, when the girl tried to convince me that her Mom let her brush her teeth in bed. ??

Top things I'm not looking forward to when I have children:
1. Wiping them. BLEH. Although I must admit it beats old people.
2. Saying the words, "It's time for bed." All hell breaks loose. "But Haaaailleeeyyy I'm not ready to go to bed!" Well. Too bad. I'm ready.
3. Listening to them whine and bug each other constantly. You know what? I'm less likely to give you whatever you're asking for BECAUSE you are whining. I also hate tattle tailing.
4. The whole "eating all your dinner to get dessert" thing. You'd think I was trying to hurt them by the way they make such a fuss about it. It's a simple concept, if you want this brownie you must eat your dinner.

But don't get the wrong idea, I really love these kids, but man it's hard! I don't get a moment alone ever. Is that how it's going to be? Will I never be alone again once I have children? There are things I'm not looking forward to, but the list of things I am looking forward to is definitely much longer. I'm excited for when I can have my own, beautiful children... but I'm glad it won't be for a while. (really glad)

I Saw Him Standing There

Some news. I am kind of obsessed with The Beatles right now. I don't know how it started up but all the sudden I can't get enough of them; every song is so awesome. I had never really looked at The Beatles before, and when I did I found out how adorable they are! Specifically Paul McCartney and George Harrison.

You may think, "Wow, Hailey is such a loser, she is just now starting to really get into the Beatles?" To that, I would say to you my friend: I was not alive in the 60's, nor anytime even close to that. I grew up listening to The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Avril Lagvine and all the other mainstream music that was far different from The Beatles. I was born in 1991; John Lennon had already gone to heaven and George Harrison would join him 10 years later. Bless their beautiful souls. But anyways, I'm just saying. Get off my back, I'm excited about this.

p.s. Why did John Lennon EVER think that this look:

would be better than this look?:

..beats me. C'mon JL.

And for your enjoyment... This is one of my favorite songs.

The Social Network

I saw this movie last night and it was actually pretty good. And it very well should have been because it won like four Global Awards over Inception! I'm still bitter that Inception didn't win any awards, it's such an amazing movie.

Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed The Social Network, not because it was a really cool move with hilarious lines or sweet action scenes, but because it was about facebook. It was really interesting to learn how facebook got started, and who started it. All the actors and actresses did a really good job and the music in it was actually pretty good. So maybe it did deserve the award for best score. Maybe. I especially liked this man named Andrew Garfield..

So adorable, I know. He plays Eduardo Saverin in the movie.

After seeing this movie, I feel a little more connected to facebook now that I know the back story. In the movie, Mark Zuckerberg is super sarcastic and has really dry humor, but it's pretty funny. I don't know if that's how he is/was in real life, but I really want to meet him. He seems kind of awesome. He hasn't made an official comment on the movie, but if he's anything like his character in the movie, I'm sure he could really care less about it. Go Mark. Who cares what happened really, we should all be thanking him because he created the site that we all go on everyday. Justin Timberlake also did a really good job on his part; his character was an a-hole and he was very believable. I think Justin should just switch from singing to acting. Who else agrees?

So anyways, you should all see this movie. If not, you won't be really missing out on anything, it's just cool to know the story. I wouldn't buy the movie, unless it was in the $5 section of course, but, I'd watch it again.

I need...

a freaking job. Seriously guys, if you know of ANYTHING during the day, puh-lease let me know.

But something worth reporting is that I have yet another TV show that I love. Community. Joel McHale. Supa fine.

For your enjoyment, I have provided you with two funny clips of the Halloween episode. Please enjoy. Abed (Batman) is probably my favorite character.
